Which European teams Qualified for the Copenhagen CS2 Major?

With the recent conclusion of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A & B stages, the Counter-Strike 2 community is inching closer and closer to the first major within the new game, which will occur from March 17th through the 31st. From blowout wins to nail-biting overtime matches, we can finally discuss the European team's performances while competing to appear at the major. This article will overview how all the European teams performed and discuss what teams sadly did not qualify for the first CS2 major.

3-0 European RMR A & B

In the European RMR A stage, the CS community witnessed a dominant performance from G2 Esports and Virtus.pro, with both teams going flawlessly 3-0 and qualifying for the major. Likewise, in the European RMR B stage, MOUZ and Cloud9 went 3-0, demonstrating masterclass Counter-Strike and proving that they earned their spot at the first CS2 major.

3-1 European RMR A & B

Natus Vincere, Faze Clan, and KOI all performed exceptionally well, and each obtained 3-1 results in the European RMR A stage to advance to the major. Similarly, Team Vitality, Team Spirit, and Apeks ended the European RMR B stage 3-1 and successfully qualified for the Copenhagen major.

3-2 European RMR A & B

Eternal Fire, SAW, and AMKAL ESPORTS squeezed into the Copenhagen major from the European RMR A group by going 3-2. In the RMR B group, ENCE, ECSTATIC, and HEROIC qualified, going 3-2 as well.

It is awesome to note that popular CS content creator and skin enthusiast ZipelCS is a co-owner of ECSTATIC, and this is the team's first appearance at a Counter-Strike major, as well as it being held in the organization's home country of Denmark!

European RMR Decider Winner

Barely sneaking their way into the major is 9Pandas, who successfully survived the Decider Bracket after originally going 2-3 in the European RMR A stage. Many community members are excited for the cute panda sticker to be added to the game.

Eliminated European Teams

Sadly, the following teams fell short of qualifying for the first Counter-Strike 2 major: Fnatic, BetBoom Team, ENTERPRISE, Team Falcons, 3DMAX, Ninja in Pyjamas, Into The Breach, Guild Eagles (formerly Bad News Eagles), Astralis, GamerLegion, OG, Monte, Preasy Esport, Pera Esports, and Nexus Gaming.

With many popular teams not qualifying for this major, transitioning from CSGO to CS2 seems challenging for some organizations that performed well in the previous game.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the recently concluded PGL Major Copenhagen 2024's European RMR A & B stages have provided thrilling moments and set the stage for the much-anticipated Counter-Strike 2 major. The dominant performances of teams like G2 Esports, Virtus.pro, MOUZ, and Cloud9 showcased their prowess and secured their spots in the upcoming major. Notable organizations, including Natus Vincere, Faze Clan, and Team Vitality, displayed exceptional skills, earning their places with 3-1 victories. The close calls in the 3-2 results for teams like Eternal Fire, SAW, ENCE, and HEROIC added excitement. A special mention goes to ECSTATIC, co-owned by popular CS content creator ZipelCS, making their debut at a major, an accomplishment celebrated on home turf. However, disappointment looms for teams that fell short, transitioning from CSGO to CS2, highlighting the challenges faced by organizations accustomed to previous success. As the CS2 major approaches, the competitive landscape promises to be intense, with a mix of seasoned contenders and rising stars, making it an event to remember in the evolving world of Counter-Strike.
